Northeast Monsoon comes to a close today (1st January)

Chennai Meteorological Centre has announced that Northeast Monsoon has ended for the regions of Tamil Nadu & Pudhucherry.
Northeast Monsoon is between the months of October to December. The average rainfall expected from Northeast monsoon is 44 cm. However, the meteorological centre informed that this year, there has been a rainfall in excess by 24 cm.
The meteorological centre has informed that the northern districts, northern coastal districts, and southern coastal districts have received good rains in a few places.
