Southern Railway (SR) has introduced two weekly special fare trains to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Velankanni and Onam festivals. The decision aims to provide a convenient travel option for passengers planning to visit these popular festival destinations.

Train No. 06039 - Ernakulam to Velankanni Weekly Special Fare Special:

  • Departure: 13:10 hrs from Ernakulam
  • Dates: 28th August, 4th September, and 11th September (Mondays)
  • Arrival: 05:40 hrs at Velankanni
  • Coaches: AC Tier-II, two AC Tier-III, seven Sleeper Class, and two General Second-Class coaches

Train No. 06040 - Velankanni to Ernakulam Weekly Special Fare Special:

  • Departure: 18:40 hrs from Velankanni
  • Dates: 29th August, 5th September, and 12th September (Tuesdays)
  • Arrival: 11:40 hrs at Ernakulam
  • Coaches: AC Tier-II, three AC Tier-III, four Tier-III Economy, six Sleeper, and two General Second-Class coaches
