The Regional Meteorological Department has mentioned that there will be rains in one or two places in Tamil Nadu due to cloud convection. The mercury rose above 100 degrees in 11 cities in Tamil Nadu including Chennai.
There was scorching heat in Tamil Nadu. Due to heavy muggy, people suffered a lot. People avoided going out between 11 am and 4 pm. Though this is a vacation period, there were fewer crowds in the tourist spots. Since there is more intensity of heat, Chennaites are heading towards Marina and Besant Nagar beaches.
An official of Regional Meteorological Department has mentioned, For the next 24 hours, dry weather will prevail in Tamil Nadu. There will be rains in one or two places in Tamil Nadu due to cloud convection. As far as Chennai is concerned the sky is likely to be partly cloudy. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas in the evening or night for the next 48 hours.
