Chennai witnessed a significant collaboration between the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and The Indian Institute of Foundrymen (IIF) as they jointly organized an industry sensitization program on Tuesday. Focused on Indian Standards for cast iron products and aluminum alloys, the event aimed to shed light on crucial aspects covered under mandatory certification.
The press release highlighted the participation of approximately 40 stakeholders who gained insights into the standards, comprehended product manuals, and learned the procedures for applying for a BIS license. Notable figures such as U.S.P Yadav, Deputy Director General of the southern region at BIS, and V. K. Raman, Chairman of IIF`s Chennai Chapter, were actively engaged in the program.
The initiative not only emphasized adherence to quality standards but also facilitated a deeper understanding of regulatory frameworks, ultimately fostering a culture of excellence within the industry.
