Order from EB Chairman to provide new electricity connections without delay in TN!!
At the electricity board or EB headquarters at Anna Salai in Chennai yesterday, a high level coordination committee meeting took place under the chairmanship of Mr. J. Radhakrishnan.
In the meeting, Mr. J. Radhakrishnan ordered the officials to expedite the implementation of long term power generation and distribution projects. He also ordered the officials to provide new electricity connections without delay.
At the meeting the current activities of EB were discussed. This included uninterrupted power supply, availability of key logistics to deal with upcoming monsoon, progress of key projects of the government and EB, electricity connection and collection, green energy production and use etc.
At the meeting, the EB Chairman Mr. J. Radhakrishnan spoke about how action must be taken in accordance with Reserve Bank guidelines regarding loan and utilization time for rural electrification corporation of the Kollimalai power generation project. He added that the pending contracts for green energy projects must be resolved as soon as possible. The authorities must take steps to make sure that the contracting companies in the power transmission and distribution sector complete their work fast.
Measures must be taken by the authorities regarding quickly implementing rooftop solar power generation infrastructure, central government power generation projects and long term power generation and distribution etc.
The chairman of EB later ordered that complaints of electricity consumers must be resolved within a specific time frame and provide new electricity connection without any delay.
The meeting saw the presence of important persons like MD of green energy Corporation Mr. Aneesh Sekar, MD of Power Generation Corporation Mr. M. Govnda Rao etc.
