The Tamil Nadu Class 10 (SSLC) Public Examinations 2026 will begin on March 11 and continue until April 6, according to the state education department. A total of 9,09,002 candidates are set to appear for the examinations across Tamil Nadu.

Among them, 8,82,806 are regular school students, 25,801 are private candidates, and 395 are prison inmates. Additionally, 12,292 differently-abled students will receive the scribe facility to assist them during the examinations.

More than 45,000 teachers have been assigned examination duties across various centers, while around 4,800 flying squads will monitor the exam centers to prevent malpractice and ensure smooth conduct of the SSLC exams.

In a new measure introduced this year, teachers and staff working at exam centers must place their mobile phones inside the question paper storage cabinet, which will be locked and sealed. Separate lockers for mobile phones are not permitted.

To assist students and the public, the education department has set up a control room operating from 8 AM to 8 PM on all exam days. Students can contact 94983 83075 or 94983 83076 for queries, complaints, or clarifications regarding the exams.

For issues related to question papers, candidates can also email [email protected]. The first exam begins with the Tamil language paper on Wednesday.
