Tamil Nadu Govt Grants Temporary Approval for 8,000 New Private Hospitals
The Tamil Nadu government has announced a major healthcare initiative by allowing temporary approval for the opening of nearly 8,000 new private hospitals across the state.
According to Health Minister Arunraj, private hospitals can now obtain temporary certificates immediately by uploading the required details through an online system. Permanent certificates will be issued later after a complete inspection process is carried out by the authorities.
The move is expected to simplify the approval process for healthcare institutions and improve medical infrastructure across Tamil Nadu. Officials believe the new system will help reduce delays in hospital licensing and encourage the establishment of more healthcare facilities, especially in growing urban and semi-urban regions.
The Health Department stated that digitising the approval process would also improve transparency and speed up administrative procedures related to hospital registrations.
Healthcare experts say the decision could significantly increase access to medical services and strengthen Tamil Nadu’s healthcare network in the coming years.
