Department is likely to conduct the teacher transfer counselling on July 6 and 7

The Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2026 for in-service teachers is scheduled to be held on July 4 and 5, 2026. To avoid inconvenience to teachers appearing for the exam, the School Education Department is likely to conduct the teacher transfer counselling on July 6 and 7.

The department has verified the details of TNTET applicants through the EMIS portal and forwarded them to the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) for further processing. As per the 2025 Supreme Court order, clearing the TNTET exam is mandatory for in-service teachers to continue in their posts.

The annual counselling process helps fill vacancies and facilitate transfers and promotions in government schools across Tamil Nadu.
