OnePlus May Exit Global Markets; India Operations Reportedly to Continue Until 2027

OnePlus, the smartphone brand known for offering premium features at competitive prices, is reportedly planning a major restructuring of its global operations. According to recent reports, the company may gradually reduce its presence in several international markets, including a phased exit from India by the end of 2027. However, the company has not officially confirmed these claims.

The reported move is said to be part of a broader restructuring by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corporation, OnePlus` parent company. As part of this strategy, OnePlus is expected to scale down its operations outside China, beginning with select markets in North America and Europe.

Despite the reports, OnePlus is expected to continue operating in the Indian market for the time being. India remains one of the brand`s key markets, where its smartphones have gained popularity for offering flagship-level features at relatively affordable prices.

Industry reports suggest that increasing competition from brands such as Apple and Samsung, geopolitical challenges in overseas markets, rising component costs, and pressure on profit margins—particularly in the Nord series have contributed to the company`s reported strategic review.

Meanwhile, Oppo is also said to be revising its global business strategy, with greater focus on selected European markets. As of now, OnePlus has not made any official announcement regarding its long-term plans, and the reported timeline for exiting international markets remains speculative.
