Central Government Eases LPG Cylinder Booking Restrictions in Rural Areas

The Central Government has relaxed the restrictions on LPG cylinder bookings in rural areas. Union Minister Suresh Gopi stated that the booking interval for LPG cylinders in rural areas has been reduced from 45 days to 25 days.

Earlier, LPG supply was severely affected due to the Iran-US conflict, which led to a significant shortage of commercial cooking gas cylinders in India.

The booking interval for domestic LPG cylinders was also increased. A gap of 25 days was fixed for urban consumers, while rural consumers had to wait 45 days before booking their next cylinder. Under the earlier system, consumers could not book another cylinder before the specified interval had ended.

Considering the current situation regarding LPG supply, the government has now reduced the booking interval for rural consumers as well.

This means that customers in rural areas can now book a new LPG cylinder once every 25 days. The government has also instructed all oil companies to implement this rule with immediate effect.
