The government hospital or GH in Thiruvottriyur in north Chennai has added a new feather to its cap now!!
The news is that in this hospital an eye operation theatre or OT for cataract surgeries was established on Thursday by the TN health minister Mr. M. Subramanian. It is learnt that CSR or corporate social responsibility funds of Rs 55 lakhs were used for this. It is known that Thiruvottriyur is densely populated and there is a huge need for an operation theatre for performing cataract surgery. Just a few hospitals in the Thiruvallur district like one at Ponneri provide ophthalmology care for the public is known.
