Extreme unbearable summer with frequent power cuts - Very tough for Chennai residents now!!

This summer in Chennai has been unforgiving and unrelenting. The temperatures have gone above 40 degrees Celsius in Chennai now and the residents have been finding it very uncomfortable now. It is obvious that many would switch on their air-conditioners in the peak summer but this has not been possible now. Truth is that the frequent power cuts now in Chennai have been disrupting the lives of the people.
On Saturday night, the power demand for Chennai touched 3994MW. It is shocking to note that the weather station at Meenambakkam recorded 42.6 degrees and at Nungambakkam 42.1 degrees Celsius.
Not only the scorching heat but also power cuts and voltage fluctuations cause issues for the residents now. In KK. Nagar, power cuts occur every midnight and no sleeping has been possible for many here. This was according to a resident here. The Nesapakkam residents have raised slogans against Tangedco/ TN Govt for the frequent power cuts in this place. Pont is that the power cut here lasted for 4 hours.
The residents from east Thiruvottiyur in north Chennai face many issues now due to frequent power cuts. It was mentioned by some Tangedco officers that the power cuts here were due to feeder faults.
