Chennai residents and the ever present parking issues??

Searching for a proper parking space for the vehicle has become an issue for many residents of Chennai now!!
Especially on Sundays or on other holidays, many go out with their families and friends for places of relaxation and have fun. They spend most of their available time finding a proper space that doesn`t charge much to park their vehicles. One of the most common issues present on the Chennai roads is the issues related to parking of vehicles only.
Traffic flow gets affected plus also the mental health of the motorists and this is due to issues in parking. This was revealed by some urban planners. The Chennai residents search for a parking place to park their vehicles free of cost because the charges for parking have shot up unimaginably in many places in the city.
The shocking information is that despite parking fees laid by the civic body authorities for parking in the public places such as beaches, shopping areas etc in Chennai the residents hesitate to pay the fees but park their vehicles on either side of the roads.
By this, the movement of many vehicles gets obstructed leading to heavy congestion. It is noteworthy that many requests have been made to GCC to impose parking changes for parking vehicles on the streets in Chennai too. This has been done to make the motorists park their vehicles at the allotted places only.
As per a resident belonging to George Town in north Chennai despite of parking space available inside the Madras High court and in the nearby Church, many park their vehicles on the streets only leading to heavy traffic congestion. Many park their vehicles on the wide footpaths with bollards constructed for the pedestrians. Inspite of action being taken by the GCC authorities the vehicles come back once again on the pavement creating issues for many pedestrians etc.
It was mentioned by a resident that inspite of a multi level parking facility available on the Thanikachalam Road in Pondy Bazaar in Chennai the facility was not used much. Many park their vehicles here on either side of the road only leading to issues.
