How this skywalk at St Thomas Mount would change the lives of the passengers?

Trekking a long distance for the purpose of changing trains to reach the destinations is not everyone’s cup of tea!!
It is known that both metro train station as well as the suburban railway station is located in the same area in St Thomas Mount. Inspite of this, the passengers face difficulties as they have to walk a long distance while changing trains due to lack of proper access. Now, the commuters are waiting keenly for the inauguration of a pedestrian over-bridge here.
The good news is that the construction works on the pedestrian over-bridge is nearing completion and this was mentioned by some officials belonging to CMRL. The concourse level of CMRL would be linked to the platform of suburban train by this new skywalk. Truth is that soon the metro train commuters would be able to change easily to the suburban trains.
Currently, the commuters have been walking 10 to 12 minutes or more to go from one station to another in the same area. The commuters would feel happy with the pedestrian over bridge as it would reduce the time taken.
Senior persons faced a lot of issues while moving from one train to another here and this was pointed out by a regular commuter. He spoke about how many commuters of both metro trains as well as suburban trains would like to interchange their trains here to go to their destinations.
It is revealed that the metro train commuters who want to go to places like Nungambakkam, Mambalam, Palavanthagal, Chromepet, Tambaram etc could change trains here. In the same manner, those commuters of suburban trains who want to go to places like Nandanam, Anna Salai, and LIC etc could change to metro trains here.
Patronage of metro trains would become better if CMRL runs a buggy between the station entrance and concourse here as it is a long distance to walk. Information collected is that the suburban station at St Thomas Mount handles 30000 passengers daily but the metro station here handles just about 2000 footfalls daily. If there was a convenient interchange facility here, the commuters of suburban trains might even switch to metro trains also.
