It seems that the fear of getting infected with for Covid-19 infection has gone totally!!

Total lock down with strict restrictions has started from Monday, 24th May 2021 onwards in Chennai and in TN. The public has been asked by the TN government and district authorities not to venture out unnecessarily. Inspite of that there were many residents on the Chennai roads. Truth is that people roamed unnecessarily on the roads without maintaining social distancing

It was brought out by a resident belonging to Madhavaram that she did not buy vegetables on Sunday as he did not have enough money to buy vegetables for one full week. She was expecting the mobile vegetables shops to visit his street every day. It is true that not even one vegetable cart visited his locality until noon. She concluded that if the mobile vegetable cart doesn’t turn up in the coming days then it would be very difficult to be without vegetables.  Though strict lockdown has been imposed now, the streets had people sitting together in groups chatting.

As per an Ambattur resident, the residents do not have any fear of Coronavirus infection as many youngsters were seen wandering on their two wheelers. He added that the residents do not have fear of police taking strict action against them for coming out in vehicles without any important purpose.

It is well known that those who are helping home isolated Covid-19 patients and their families are only allowed to venture outside and they too must show their e-pass to the police personnel.

A volunteer helping Covid-19 patients in Chennai home quarantine expressed his thoughts. He explained about how the police personnel were cooperative and they did not question them regarding coming outside during the total lockdown. He added that the grocery shops were closed and therefore he and his team were unable to buy groceries for the Covid-19 patients. Finally he spoke about how the youngsters are wandering on the Chennai streets without any purpose inspite of police taking severe action against them.

It was later mentioned by an official from GCC that since people were crowding to buy veggies on weekends, the traders association decided to run a limited number of mobile carts. Information is that2000 mobile vehicles from traders associations have been pressed into service. The official hinted that from Tuesday onwards the mobile vegetable shops would be increased for the sake of the people.
