SMS- App on Met Weather Will Soon Materialize

The much-anticipated SMS-App from the Indian Meteorological Department is still not yet turned up. The ministry would shortly instigate a mobile app to propagate statistics on the weather, said IMD officials. 

IMD would soon materialize its mobile app ‘Indian Weather’ in and around the third week of August. This app has been upgraded with more than 310 cities all over the country, said officials from the Numerical Weather Prediction Department.

This SMS-App would be accessible free of cost and the abusers of Windows, Blackberry and Android can download this app. Also, mobile with IOS platform cannot utilize this app. This advanced app would afford information on thunderstorms, current weather and also foresee the weather information for the consequent four days.

Meanwhile, the Agro-Met tune facilitated by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) and Agro Meteorological Field Unit has been flourishing among the public.

The head of the Agro Climate Research Centre, TNAU whispered that the agricultural university has been delivering weather counseling’s on every Tuesday and Friday for the enrolled users. More than 1.13 lakh farmers dwelling in Tirupur, Coimbatore and Erode gets assistance from this successful app. 

In addition to the agro advisory, the SMS also affords advises on the common weather. The recent advice-giving talks about the approaching huge rainfall in the western region and warns people in the mountainous areas to lodge safe. We also suggested farmers to support both banana and sugarcane plants, as we feel odd winds now, he added.
