Installation of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Systems Soon

Posted on: 10/Jun/2014 3:15:15 PM
Thanks to Chief Minister for her scheme of installation of solar photovoltaic (SPV) systems. Household consumers were the major recipients of this scheme.

As of now, nearly twenty five systems have been mounted in. According to Sudeep Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA), which is the nodal organization for the scheme, informed that the dispatch of the first series of bi-directional meters is anticipated soon.

Bi-directional gauges are needed as the solar energy shaped at the side of the consumer is surplus than the utilization; the excess energy will instinctively be re-routed to the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TAGEDCO) allocation network or to the grid.

These bi-directional meters are capable enough to evaluate both the energy import and export.

Totally 10,000 domestic customers have been wrapped under this scheme, where the conventional meters at the locations has been replaced.

According to the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Green House Scheme, nearly 90,000 houses will be rendered with solar power systems, says the CMD official. This needs a breach of about six months, as this installation needs the houses to be completed.

Installation of huge number of solar power systems needs more talented manpower at the time of both the installation and during the maintenance.

This topic will be soon tackled with the global conference, ‘Renergy 2014’. This conference will takes place on June 12 to 14th at the Chennai Trade Centre.
