Fantastic!! New rail coaches to be manufactured at ICF Chennai for 2023-24!!

The approval has been issued by the Railway Board for manufacturing 6991 coaches in the FY 2023-24 at 3 coach factories including ICF.
The Railway Board has mentioned that it has given its approval to manufacture 3619 coaches at Integral Coach Factory or ICF in Chennai, to manufacture 1850 coaches at Kaparthala Coach Factory RCF, to manufacture 1522 coaches at Raibareilly Modern Coach Factory or RMCF. As many as 3902 coaches would be manufactured for LHP type units and 1008 coaches for Vande Bharat trains.
It was revealed by some railway dept officers that modern type of train coaches would be needed for increasing the train speeds and for railway track improvement etc. In this scenario, steps have been taken to manufacture modern coaches at ICF in chennai.
On 15th of May, the Railway Board sent the coach manufacturing details for the FY 2023-24 to the GM`s of railway coaches manufacturing factories.
