The Southern Railway has announced temporary route diversions for trains operating between Guruvayur and Chennai due to maintenance and technical works being carried out in the Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division.
According to an official statement, maintenance activities related to container and technical operations are being undertaken at the Ernakulam yard, leading to changes in train routes between May 27 and May 29.
Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express Diverted
The Guruvayur to Chennai Egmore Railway Station Express train (No. 16128), scheduled to depart from Guruvayur at 11:15 PM on May 27, 28 and 29, will operate on a diverted route instead of its regular path.
During the diversion period, the train will make additional stops at:
- Kottayam
- Changanassery
- Tiruvalla
- Chengannur
Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Train Also Diverted
Similarly, the Chennai Central to Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station Superfast Express (Train No. 22207), departing at 4 PM on May 29, 30 and June 1, will also be diverted via the Kottayam route.
The train will additionally stop at:
- Ernakulam
- Kottayam
- Changanassery
- Chengannur
