Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple Kumbabhishekam: Special Train Between Tambaram and Madurai Today

The Southern Railway has announced an unreserved special train service between Tambaram and Madurai today, September 16, for devotees attending the Kumbabhishekam ceremony at the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple.

The Kumbabhishekam of the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple is scheduled to be held on September 17, after a gap of 17 years. The ceremony is expected to be attended by a large number of devotees.

To facilitate their travel, the Southern Railway announced on September 15 that unreserved special trains would operate between Tambaram and Madurai.

Accordingly, special train No. 06159 will depart from Tambaram at 5:00 PM on September 16 and reach Madurai at 2:20 AM on September 17.

In the return direction, special train No. 06160 will depart from Madurai at 2:00 PM on September 17 and reach Tambaram at 9:45 PM on the same day.

The special train will stop at several major railway stations, including Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli and Dindigul, providing convenient travel options for devotees.

The unreserved special train service is expected to benefit devotees travelling from Chennai and the southern districts to attend the Meenakshi Amman Temple Kumbabhishekam.
