Chennai EMU and MEMU Train Services Cancelled Till August 1 Due to Southern Railway Engineering Works

Several suburban EMU and MEMU train services on the Chennai Central–Gudur section will remain cancelled or partially cancelled until August 1 as Southern Railway carries out essential engineering works at multiple locations along the route.

As part of the maintenance work, Southern Railway has scheduled line and power block operations between Kavaraipettai and Gummidipoondi. Due to these works, the late-night Moore Market Complex–Gummidipoondi EMU service will be partially cancelled between Ponneri and Gummidipoondi on July 21, 23, 27, 29, and 31.

Similarly, the early morning Gummidipoondi–Moore Market Complex EMU service will operate only up to Ponneri on July 22, 24, 28, 30, and August 1, with the remaining portion of the journey cancelled.

In addition, Southern Railway has scheduled six-hour line and signal block works between Pedapariya and Nayudupeta on July 23, 25, 27, and 30. As a result, five MEMU services have been cancelled on these dates.

The affected MEMU services include:

- Moore Market Complex – Sullurupeta

- Sullurupeta – Nellore

- Nellore – Sullurupeta

- Sullurupeta – Moore Market Complex

- Moore Market Complex – Avadi

Passengers travelling on the Chennai Central–Gudur route are advised to check the latest train schedules and service updates before planning their journey, as these engineering works may impact regular suburban rail operations.
