Tamil Nadu Government Announces Major IAS Reshuffle; J. Radhakrishnan, Supriya Sahu Among Key Transfers

Continuing its administrative reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday announced a major transfer of senior IAS officers, including four officers holding the rank of Additional Chief Secretary. Among the prominent officials transferred are Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) Chairman and Managing Director J. Radhakrishnan and Environment, Climate Change and Forest Department Secretary Supriya Sahu.

Senior IAS officer P. Umanath, who was recently relieved as Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, has been appointed as the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce.

According to the transfer order issued by Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar, V. Arun Roy, who was serving as Secretary to the Higher Education Department, has been appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), replacing J. Radhakrishnan. Radhakrishnan has been posted as the Director General of the Anna Institute of Management.

Kakarla Usha, who was recently appointed Secretary to the Public Department, has now been transferred as Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forest Department, succeeding Supriya Sahu. In turn, Supriya Sahu has been appointed as the Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Development.

E. Sundaravalli, who served as Special Secretary to the Public Department, has been elevated as Secretary to the Public Department.

In another key change, Additional Chief Secretary Pradeep Yadav has been transferred from the Information Technology and Digital Services Department to head the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department.

Atul Anand, who was serving as MSME Secretary, has been appointed as the Secretary, Information Technology Department, while Dheeraj Kumar, Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Development, has been posted as the new Secretary to the Higher Education Department.

Nirmal Raj, Director of Industries and Commerce, has been transferred as Secretary to the Transport Department.

The government has also announced the following appointments:

- Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan, Commissioner of Disaster Management, has been appointed Transport Commissioner.

- M. Vallalar has been posted as Labour Commissioner.

- R. Gajalakshmi, Commissioner of Land Administration, has been appointed Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise.

- D. Baskara Pandian, Director of Transport, has been transferred as Director of Museums.

The latest reshuffle is part o of the Tamil Nadu government`s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve administrative efficiency across key departments.
