The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu on May 2 and May 3, warning of strong winds and changing weather conditions in several districts.

According to the Chennai Meteorological Centre, districts including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, and Erode are expected to receive heavy rain over the next two days.

Weather officials have also predicted strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph, which may accompany the rainfall. This could lead to localized disruptions such as waterlogging, tree falls, and traffic delays.

In addition, Salem and Namakkal districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall on May 2, further extending the impact across the region.

The rainfall is expected to bring some relief from the intense summer heat, but authorities have advised the public to remain cautious, especially in hilly and low-lying areas where conditions can change rapidly.

Residents are urged to stay updated with official weather advisories, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain, and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
