Tamil Nadu Heavy Rain Alert: 7 Districts Including Madurai, Theni and Nilgiris to Receive Heavy Rain

The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast the possibility of heavy rainfall in several districts of Tamil Nadu, including Madurai, Dindigul, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Pudukkottai, Nilgiris and Theni.

According to the weather forecast, Western Ghats districts and southern Tamil Nadu are likely to receive rainfall. Several areas may also experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds.

Heavy Rain Expected in Several Districts

The Nilgiris and Theni districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.

Moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and strong winds is expected in parts of Madurai, Dindigul, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi and Villupuram.

Parts of Puducherry may also receive moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds.

Light Rain in Other Areas

The weather department has forecast light rain with thunderstorms at a few places across Tamil Nadu and in Karaikal.

In north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, some areas may receive moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.

Residents in the affected districts are advised to remain cautious during periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.
