Tamil Nadu Plus-2 Results 2026: 2,639 Higher Secondary Schools Achieve 100% Pass Rate

Chennai: The results of the Tamil Nadu Plus-2 public examinations, conducted from March 2 to March 26 across the state, were released today. Around 8 lakh students appeared for the examinations this year.

Following the completion of the answer sheet evaluation process between April 6 and April 20, and the uploading of marks to the official portals, the Directorate of Government Examinations announced the results this morning.

According to the official data, 95.2% of the students who appeared for the examination have successfully passed.

As seen in previous years, female students once again outperformed male students in terms of pass percentage. The pass percentage among female students stood at 97%, while male students recorded a pass percentage of 93.1%.

Out of the 7,536 higher secondary schools across Tamil Nadu, 2,639 schools achieved a 100% pass rate. This includes government schools, government-aided schools, and private self-financing institutions.

In addition, 5,170 schools recorded a pass percentage of 95% or higher. Among government higher secondary schools alone, 489 schools achieved a 100% pass rate, while 1,572 government schools recorded pass percentages above 95%.

Girls’ schools recorded a pass percentage that was 6.59% higher than boys’ schools. Similarly, co-educational schools achieved a pass percentage 4.81% higher than boys’ schools.

Education officials stated that the results reflect the consistent academic performance of students across the state and the improving standards in higher secondary education.
