Tamil Nadu Government Reshuffle 2026: New Chiefs Appointed for GCC, Metro Water and CMDA

The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced a major bureaucratic reshuffle with new appointments across several important departments, including the Greater Chennai Corporation, Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.

New Appointments in Chennai Civic Bodies

Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC)

GS Sameeran has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation, replacing J Kumaragurubaran.

Chennai Metro Water

T Anand has been appointed Managing Director of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (Metro Water), replacing TG Vinay.

CMDA

AR Rahul Nadh has been posted as Member Secretary of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), replacing G Prakash.

- Gagandeep Singh Bedi appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.

- P Amudha transferred as Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department.

- Satyabrata Sahoo posted as Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department.

- Shunchonngam Jatak Chiru appointed Principal Secretary, Public Works Department with additional charge of Natural Resources.

- Anil Meshram transferred as Principal Secretary, Energy Department.

- M Vallalar appointed Secretary, Transport Department.

- Prashant M Wadnere posted as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.

- GK Arun Sundar Thayalan appointed Inspector General of Registration.

- Dinesh Ponraj Oliver appointed Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board.
