Airtel Cloud Signs 40 Customers in First Year, Manufacturing Leads Demand

New Delhi, Sep 20 (PTI): Bharti Airtel’s homegrown cloud platform, Airtel Cloud, has secured around 40 customers within its first year, with manufacturing companies accounting for nearly 25% of its client base.

Launched in August 2025 by Airtel’s digital arm Xtelify, Airtel Cloud is a sovereign, India-hosted cloud platform designed to help enterprises manage critical workloads while maintaining data control.

Manufacturers, including VE Commercial Vehicles, are among its customers. The platform is seeing demand for services such as disaster recovery, backup-as-a-service and storage-as-a-service.

Airtel said its cloud platform, originally developed for its own large-scale operations, can handle up to 1.4 billion transactions per minute. The company is also targeting regulated industries and public-sector organisations that require sovereign cloud infrastructure for sensitive workloads.

The growing adoption of connected factories, automation, industrial sensors and AI is expected to further increase demand for secure cloud infrastructure in the manufacturing sector.
