The Indian Railways has announced special train services between Erode, Chennai Central, and Podanur to manage increased passenger demand.
As per the official schedule, Train No. 06026 (Erode – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express Special) will depart from Erode at 09:20 AM on April 30, 2026, and arrive at Chennai Central at 05:00 PM on the same day. The train will stop at major stations including Salem, Morappur, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, and Perambur.
In the return direction, Train No. 06025 (Dr MGR Chennai Central – Podanur Express Special) will leave Chennai Central at 06:45 PM on April 30, 2026, and reach Podanur at 05:15 AM the next day. Key stops along the route include Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Morappur, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur.
These special services are being operated to reduce overcrowding and provide additional travel options for passengers during peak travel periods. Railway authorities have advised passengers to plan their journey in advance and check train timings before departure.
