Fire Breaks Out at Bank of India in Velachery, Chennai
A sudden fire broke out at the Bank of India branch located on Velachery Main Road in the Dhandeeswaramarea of Chennai. The bank operates near an ATM, and a significant amount of smoke was observed in the area for over an hour.
Given the proximity of numerous houses and commercial establishments, the police quickly arrived on the scene. The fire brigade was also notified, and three fire tenders from Thiruvanmiyur, Guindy, and Ashok Nagar responded to the emergency.
The fire department is still working to identify the exact location within the bank that has caught fire. Reports indicate that people in the vicinity are experiencing eye irritation and suffocation due to the heavy smoke emission.
