CMRL Hosts First “I-Metro Rolling Stock Working Group” Meeting in Chennai
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) hosted the first-ever “Rolling Stock Working Group” meeting on 16th and 17th May 2025 at its headquarters, MetroS. Organised in collaboration with I-Metro and supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), the meet brought together senior officials and technical experts from leading metro systems across India, including DMRC, BMRCL, KMRL, UPMRC, Maha Metro, and others.
The event, led by CMRL as the Working Group Leader, focused on sharing best practices, innovations in maintenance, vendor development, AI adoption, and life-cycle cost optimization in Rolling Stock management.
CMRL MD Thiru. M.A. Siddique, IAS, along with senior CMRL officials and representatives from other metro systems, emphasized the importance of unified development and technological advancement in metro operations.
This initiative strengthens CMRL’s readiness for Phase 2 operations, reinforcing its commitment to reliable and future-ready metro services.
