Tirumala Temple to Remain Closed During Lunar Eclipse on Sept 7

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple will remain closed on September 7, 2025, due to the lunar eclipse. The temple doors will be shut from 3:30 PM on September 7 and will reopen after purification rituals at 3:00 AM on September 8.
As per tradition, priests will perform punyahavachanam and Vedic rites after the eclipse before resuming darshan. TTD has also advised pilgrims to check official announcements and darshan schedules, as a heavy rush of devotees is expected once the temple reopens.
