The long-awaited Chennai Port–Maduravoyal Double Decker Flyover project is progressing rapidly and is expected to become operational soon. The mega infrastructure project is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving cargo movement between Chennai Port and Maduravoyal.

Once opened, the elevated corridor is expected to significantly ease heavy vehicle traffic inside the city and improve travel time for port-bound transport vehicles.
