Southern Railway Announces Special Holiday Season Hill Train Services
Southern Railway is pleased to announce the operation of special hill trains to cater to the influx of tourists during the upcoming holiday season. In a press release issued by the Salem Divisional Railway Administration, it has been stated that these special trains will provide a delightful travel experience for passengers keen to explore the scenic Nilgiri Hills.

The Nilgiri Hill Train will operate on the following routes and dates:

1. Ooty to Coonoor:
  • Dates: 16th, 17th, 30th September, and 1st October.
  • Departure Times: Multiple departures available.
  • Seat Availability: 80 First Class seats and 140 Second Class seats.

2. Coonoor to Ooty:
  • Dates: 17th, 18th, 1st, and 2nd October.
  • Seat Availability: 80 First Class seats and 140 Second Class seats.

3. Mettupalayam to Ooty:
  • Dates: 16th, 21st, 23rd, and 30th October.
  • Seat Availability: 40 First Class seats and 140 Second Class seats.

4. Mettupalayam to Coonoor:
  • Seat Availability: 40 First Class seats and 140 Second Class seats.

5. Coonoor to Ooty (Kethi):
  • Dates: 17th and 1st October.
  • Departure Times: 9:45 am, 11 am, and 3 pm.
  • Seat Availability: Operated on a reservation basis.
