West Jones Road in Saidapet Faces Severe Traffic Congestion Due to Metro Water Maintenance Works

Ongoing maintenance work by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) on West Jones Road in Saidapet has caused heavy traffic congestion, affecting thousands of daily commuters.

The excavation work near the West Saidapet Bus Depot has narrowed the carriageway, making it difficult for buses and other vehicles to pass smoothly. As a result, motorists travelling towards Anna Salai, Guindy and nearby areas are experiencing significant delays, especially during peak hours.

Residents have expressed concern over the slow pace of the maintenance work, stating that the road has remained dug up for more than a week. They have urged the authorities to complete the work quickly and restore the road to normal traffic conditions.

Commuters have also requested better traffic management around the work site to reduce congestion and ensure smoother movement of vehicles until the maintenance work is completed.
