Tamil Nadu Elections 2026: Postal Voting Begins for Chennai Police
Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23, postal voting has begun in Chennai for police personnel engaged in election duties.
As per arrangements made by the Election Commission of India, a total of 18,971 police personnel in Chennai are casting their postal votes over two days, on April 18 and April 20.
Special polling centers have been set up across all 16 Assembly constituencies in the city to facilitate the voting process. Police personnel can visit their designated centers and cast their votes by presenting valid identification documents. Postal ballot forms had already been distributed in advance.
The entire voting process is being conducted under the direct supervision of election officials, with CCTV monitoring to ensure transparency and security.
Officials have emphasized the importance of 100% participation among police personnel to ensure smooth election duty without missing their voting rights.
