Applications Invited for Two-Year Horticulture Diploma Course in Chennai
The Tamil Nadu Horticulture Development Institute located in Madhavaram has invited online applications for admission to its two-year diploma course in horticulture for the current academic year.
According to Chennai District Collector Rashmi Siddharth Jagade, eligible students can apply online through the official admission portal before June 8.
The Tamil Nadu Horticulture Development Institute functions as an affiliated college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and offers English-medium diploma education in horticulture.
Officials stated that admissions will be conducted for 50 seats available in the institution. Students who have completed Plus Two with subjects including Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Biology, or Vocational Agriculture are eligible to apply for the diploma programme.
Selection of candidates will be based on merit and counselling procedures. The application fee has been fixed at ₹100 for SC/ST candidates and ₹200 for candidates belonging to other categories.
Interested students can submit applications online through the official Tamil Nadu Agricultural University admission website before the last date. Authorities have also provided helpline numbers 99442 09417 and 84897 42975 for admission-related enquiries.
The horticulture diploma course is expected to provide students with practical and technical knowledge in agriculture, horticulture management, crop cultivation, and allied farming technologies, creating employment opportunities in the agriculture and horticulture sectors.
