TNSTC to Run 1,475 Special Buses from July 3–5 for Weekend Holiday Rush

To manage the expected surge in passenger traffic during the weekend and the ongoing summer holidays, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations (TNSTC) will operate 1,475 special buses in addition to regular services from July 3 to July 5.

According to the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC), 775 special buses will be operated from Chennai on Friday (July 3) and Saturday (July 4).

From Kilambakkam Bus Terminus, 410 special buses will operate on Friday and 290 buses on Saturday to major destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Tiruchy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tirupur.

From Koyambedu Bus Terminus, 55 special buses each will operate on Friday and Saturday to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru. Additionally, 20 special buses will be operated from Madhavaram on both days.

To cater to passengers travelling from neighbouring states, 200 special buses will also be operated from Bengaluru, Tirupur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations.

For the return journey after the weekend, 445 special buses will be operated on Sunday (July 5) from various parts of Tamil Nadu to Chennai and Bengaluru.

The transport corporations stated that 6,608 passengers have already reserved tickets for Friday services, while 7,721 passengers have booked for Saturday and 3,074 passengers have booked for Sunday. Officials expect the number of reservations to increase further as the weekend approaches.

Passengers planning long-distance travel are advised to reserve their tickets in advance through the TNSTC website or the TNSTC mobile application to avoid last-minute rush and ensure a comfortable journey.
