The Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) has launched a new “EB Auto Pay” facility for Low Tension (LT) consumers in Tamil Nadu to simplify electricity bill payments through automatic bank debit.

The new service is enabled through the National Automated Clearing House (NACH) platform and allows consumers to pay electricity bills automatically without manually making payments every month.

Consumers can register for the EB Auto Pay facility through the official TNPDCL portal by entering their service connection number along with bank account details, debit card details, or Aadhaar authentication. Once registration is completed, the auto-payment system will be activated for the selected electricity connection.

Under the new system, the electricity bill amount will be automatically debited from the consumer’s bank account on the 10th day from the bill assessment date. After successful payment confirmation from the bank, an e-receipt will be generated automatically.

TNPDCL stated that consumers can choose flexible mandate start and end dates according to their convenience. The facility helps consumers avoid late payment penalties and ensures timely payment of current consumption (CC) bills.

The utility clarified that no additional fee is being charged by TNPDCL or Federal Bank for using the EB Auto Pay service. However, banks may impose charges if there are insufficient funds in the account during auto-debit processing.

Consumers will also receive SMS and email notifications for successful e-mandate registration, cancellation, and bill payment confirmations.

The e-receipt can be downloaded from the official TNPDCL portal or through TNEB Net Portal.

TNPDCL has urged consumers across Tamil Nadu to make use of the EB Auto Pay facility for quick, secure, and hassle-free electricity bill payments.
