Tamil Nadu Offers Up to ₹36 Lakh Scholarship for 10 Muslim Students Studying Abroad

The Tamil Nadu government is inviting applications for an overseas education scholarship for 10 Muslim students, with financial assistance of up to ₹36 lakh per student.

The scholarship is available for students planning to pursue postgraduate degree programmes abroad during the 2026–27 academic year. Eligible applicants must have secured an unconditional admission letter from a university or educational institution ranked among the top 250 universities globally in the QS World University Rankings.

Eligibility for Overseas Scholarship

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

- The applicant must be a Muslim student eligible under the scheme.

- The student`s parents` annual income must not exceed ₹8 lakh.

- The applicant must have secured at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade in their undergraduate degree.

- The student must have an unconditional admission offer from an institution ranked within the top 250 in the QS World University Rankings.

- The course must be a postgraduate degree programme for the 2026–27 academic year.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

Eligible students can download the application form from the Tamil Nadu Minorities Welfare Department website, complete the form and submit it along with the required supporting documents.

Applications must be sent to:

Kalas Mahal Heritage Building, First Floor,
Chepauk, Chennai – 600 005.

The completed applications must reach the department on or before October 15, 2026.

The Minorities Welfare Commissioner announced the scholarship and called upon eligible students to submit their applications within the prescribed deadline.
