IIT Madras Extends Registration Deadline for Free ‘Out of the Box Thinking 2026’ Course

IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has extended the registration deadline for its `Out of the Box Thinking (OOBT) 2026` programme from July 31 to August 6, 2026.

The free online programme is designed for school students, college students, educators, working professionals, and lifelong learners to develop essential skills such as creative problem-solving, logical reasoning, mathematical thinking, critical thinking, and innovation.

The course has been developed by IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation with financial support from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, in collaboration with the Aryabhatta Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

According to IIT Madras Director Prof. V. Kamakoti, the programme encourages participants to solve problems using mathematical thinking, evaluate solutions from multiple perspectives, and strengthen their critical thinking abilities. He noted that such skills can lead to breakthroughs across disciplines ranging from engineering to medical sciences, while inspiring young minds to think differently and drive innovation.

The programme consists of four levels, with each level spanning 10 weeks. Participants will receive structured learning modules, guided exercises, and regular assignments aimed at enhancing analytical and creative thinking skills.

Eligible candidates can register for the free online course until August 6, 2026.
