Chennai Traffic Changes on OMR, Thoraipakkam

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police has announced several traffic changes on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) and in the Thoraipakkam area from Wednesday, September 23, to regulate vehicle movement and reduce traffic congestion.

The changes mainly involve restrictions on U-turns at various locations, with motorists being directed to the Perungudi Toll Booth for making U-turns.

Key Traffic Changes on OMR

1. U turn restriction near Geetham Restaurant

Vehicles travelling towards Sholinganallur from Mettukuppam and Pillayar Kovil Street will not be permitted to make a U-turn near Geetham Restaurant.

Motorists will have to proceed up to the Perungudi Toll Booth, make a U-turn there and continue towards Sholinganallur.

2. Vehicles from 200 Feet Radial Road

Vehicles travelling towards Sholinganallur from the 200 Feet Radial Road will not be allowed to make a U-turn near Srivaram.

They will have to proceed up to the Perungudi Toll Booth, take a U-turn and continue towards Sholinganallur.

3. U turn restriction near World Trade Centre

Vehicles travelling towards SRP Tools from Kanthanchavadi will not be permitted to make a U-turn near the World Trade Centre.

Such vehicles should proceed up to the Perungudi Toll Booth, make a U-turn and continue towards SRP Tools.

4. Vehicles heading towards 200 Feet Radial Road

Vehicles travelling towards the 200 Feet Radial Road from Perungudi and Srivaram areas can make a U-turn near Geetham Restaurant and continue towards the 200 Feet Radial Road as usual.

Traffic Police Request Cooperation

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police has requested motorists and the public to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and follow the revised U-turn regulations.
