LPG Cylinder e-KYC Deadline Extended Till August 31: Complete the Update from Home

The Central Government has extended the deadline for completing LPG cylinder e-KYC until August 31, 2026. The deadline, which was scheduled to end on August 23, has been extended by another week following requests from customers.

The e-KYC update has been made mandatory to prevent misuse of LPG connections and ensure that subsidy benefits reach eligible beneficiaries. Customers who have not yet completed the verification have been given another opportunity to update their details.

Why Is LPG e-KYC Mandatory?

The government introduced the e-KYC process to identify duplicate LPG connections, inactive connections registered in the names of deceased individuals, and other irregularities in the domestic LPG distribution system.

Officials also suspect that more than 25 lakh domestic LPG connections are being misused every month, including cases where subsidised domestic cylinders are diverted for commercial use.

What Happens If You Don’t Complete e-KYC?

Customers who fail to complete e-KYC may face difficulties in booking subsidised LPG cylinders. It is also reported that new cylinder bookings could be temporarily suspended for customers whose verification remains incomplete until the e-KYC process is completed.

Customers can visit their respective gas agencies to complete the verification process.

How to Complete LPG e-KYC from Home

Customers who cannot visit a gas agency can complete e-KYC online using their mobile phones in just a few minutes.

- Bharat Gas customers: Download the Hello BPCL app.

- HP Gas customers: Download the HP Pay app.

After downloading the respective app, log in using your registered mobile number and OTP. Select the "e-KYC Update" option and enter the required details to complete the verification process.
