Kerala to Chennai Special Train 2026: Southern Railway Announces Summer Special Service

To handle the increasing summer travel rush, Southern Railway has announced a special train service between Ernakulam and Chennai Egmore. The Kerala to Chennai special train will operate on May 31, 2026, providing extra travel support for passengers during the holiday season.

According to Southern Railway, Train No. 06056 will depart from Ernakulam at 11:10 PM on May 31 and reach Chennai Egmore at 12:00 PM on June 1. In the return direction, Train No. 06055 will leave Chennai Egmore at 2:30 PM on June 1 and arrive at Ernakulam at 4:30 AM on June 2.

The Chennai Egmore special train includes AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper class, general second-class coaches, and luggage-cum-brake vans to accommodate more passengers comfortably.

The Ernakulam–Chennai special train will stop at important railway stations including Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, and Perambur.

Passengers can now book tickets for the Southern Railway special train through railway reservation counters and official online booking platforms.
