Tar Layer Laid on Madhya Kailash Flyover for Smoother Ride

To improve riding comfort, the state highways department has laid a bituminous (tar) layer on the Madhya Kailash flyover in Chennai after motorists complained about a bumpy ride. The flyover was closed on Wednesday night for the work and reopened to traffic on Thursday morning.
The 652-metre L-shaped flyover connecting Sardar Patel Road and Rajiv Gandhi Salai was opened on February 15 to ease congestion near the IIT Madras–Adyar stretch. Officials said the new tar layer will provide a smoother ride without affecting the structure’s safety.
