The Southern Railway has announced a temporary route diversion for Train No. 16128 Guruvayur - Chennai Egmore Express due to ongoing railway maintenance and engineering works.
According to the railway department, Train No. 16128 Guruvayur - Chennai Egmore Express, which departs from Guruvayur at 11:15 PM, will operate on a diverted route on selected dates in March.
During this period, the train will run via Virudhunagar - Manamadurai - Karaikudi - Tiruchirappalli instead of its regular route.
Because of this diversion, the train will skip stoppages at the following stations:
- Cholavandan
- Kodaikanal Road
- Dindigul
- Manapparai
However, for passenger convenience, temporary stoppages will be provided at:
- Sivaganga
- Pudukkottai
Railway authorities have advised passengers travelling on Train No. 16128 Guruvayur – Chennai Egmore Express to check updated schedules and station stoppages before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience.
The diversion has been implemented to facilitate essential track maintenance and improve railway infrastructure, ensuring smoother train operations in the future.
