Tambaram - Tenkasi Special Trains Announced on Thursdays and Saturdays to Ease Passenger Rush

To manage increased passenger demand, Southern Railway has announced the operation of weekly bi-directional superfast special trains between Tambaram and Tenkasi on Thursdays and Saturdays.

According to an official statement, the special train service has been introduced to reduce congestion on the route and provide additional travel options for passengers during the peak travel period.

The Tambaram–Tenkasi Superfast Special (Train No. 06135) will operate on July 30 and August 1, 6, 8, 13, and 15. The train will depart Tambaram at 5:00 AM and arrive at Tenkasi at 3:30 PM.

En route, the train will halt at the following stations:

- Chengalpattu
- Villupuram
- Tiruchirappalli
- Dindigul
- Madurai
- Virudhunagar
- Sivakasi
- Rajapalayam
- Sankarankovil

In the return direction, the Tenkasi–Tambaram Superfast Special (Train No. 06136) will run on July 31 and August 2, 7, 9, 14, and 16. The train will depart Tenkasi at 5:00 AM and reach Tambaram at 3:15 PM.

The special train will comprise:

- 2 AC Three-Tier (3A) coaches
- 1 AC Chair Car coach
- 14 Reserved Second Class Seating coaches
- 4 Second Class General coaches

Southern Railway has announced that advance reservation for these special trains is now open, and passengers are advised to book their tickets early to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
