Tamil Nadu Government Launches WhatsApp Service to Get 50 Certificates Easily - Here’s How
In a major step towards digital governance, the Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced a new facility that allows citizens to obtain 50 types of government certificates through WhatsApp in a simple and time-saving manner.
MoU Signed for WhatsApp-Based Certificate Services
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Nandambakkam Trade Centre in the presence of Palivel Thiaga Rajan, Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services. Officials from WhatsApp and Tamil Nadu’s e-Sevai centres were also present.
This is the first time in Tamil Nadu that WhatsApp has been integrated with the Revenue Department to deliver public services directly to citizens.
Certificates Available via WhatsApp
Through this initiative, people can apply for and receive 50 revenue-related certificates, including:
- Birth Certificate
- Residence Certificate
- Income and Community Certificates
- Other commonly used government documents
The scheme aims to eliminate repeated visits to government offices and reduce delays in service delivery.
How to Get Certificates via WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp and send a message to 78452 52525
- Follow the instructions received
- Upload the required documents related to the certificate
- Submit the request through WhatsApp
Applicants will receive their certificates within a few days directly on WhatsApp, officials said.
