Tiruvallur Traffic Congestion Worsens as Road Remains Barricaded for Three Weeks

Tiruvallur: Traffic congestion has worsened on the Tiruvallur-Red Hills High Road near North Raja Street as a portion of the road has remained barricaded for nearly three weeks following sewage pipeline replacement work.

The road is a key route connecting markets, marriage halls and schools. Residents said the reduced carriageway has resulted in heavy traffic congestion, particularly during morning and evening peak hours.

Residents have also raised concerns over dust caused by loose soil piled along the road. The issue has reportedly caused discomfort to people, including those visiting the nearby District Health Office.

Tiruvallur Municipality Chairman P Udhaya Malar Pandian said the sewage pipeline replacement work has been completed. She added that road relaying work will begin within the next couple of days after the necessary permissions were obtained from the traffic police and Highways Department.

Residents have urged officials to complete the road work quickly to ease traffic congestion in Tiruvallur.
