There is now an increase in the Covid infection caseload in Kerala and Singapore caused by a new variant JN.1. In this scenario, the TN govt has sent Covid19 positive samples for testing.
As per the TN health minister Mr. M. Subramaniam due to an increase in the cases in Kerala and in Singapore, the TN govt has ordered an increase in the RT-PCR tests whenever there were more positive cases. He threw light about how a total of 264 persons have been tested and out of those how eight persons tested positive for Covid-19. After 2 or 3 months, TN has conducted more than 200 RT-PCR tests. The sensational piece of information is that on Wednesday, 13th December, Kerala state had more than 1000 Covid-19 positive cases
It is learnt that the new variant has milder infection among the patients in Kerala ad Singapore etc. After getting cold, cough and throat pain for 3 days, the patients then recover. He concluded that for the last 6 to 7 months, the Covid19 cases have been in single digits only and there was no need to fear.
