Alert!! 207 Chennai streets with COVID cases plus important statements from the health minister!!

After making his presence at the blood donation camp organised in Madras Medical College or MMC in Chennai, the health minister Mr. M. Subramanian expressed his thoughts about the increasing Covid-19 cases.

The health minister mentioned that the number of cases has been increasing in Chennai and in Tamil Nadu now and despite this increase just 8% of the patients have been hospitalized for treatment. He hinted about the oxygen requirement that was required in less amounts in the state. The rise in the number of Coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu has been gradual only whereas in India the increase has been double or triple also.

Three thousand and six hundred and eighteen or 3618 Covid-19 cases were reported in Chennai alone in the last 24 hours. In the entire state, there were as many as 8222 cases. In Chennai alone, from the previous testing of 12000 samples, the testing has been increased now to 25000 samples per day. This was as per the health minister. More than 3 Covid-19 cases have been reported from 207 streets in Chennai city. There are 181 streets in Chennai having more than 5 Covid-19 cases.

In the hospitals there are as many as 136 patients and 51 patients have been undergoing treatment in various government hospitals and 85 patients in private hospitals in Chennai. Contact tracing is being carried out in Chennai now by the civic body authorities. The infected patients are asymptomatic and there is reduction in the requirement of oxygen supply now.

It is learnt that atleast 92percent of the Covid-19 patients are in home isolation in Chennai and just 8percent have been admitted in the hospitals for treatment. It is important to note that at the blood donation camp in MMC in Chennai as many as 341 students donated their blood in the beginning.
